PURCHASING AGENT
Greater Sudbury Utilities, a progressive utility servicing 47,000 customers in Northeastern Ontario, has an opportunity for a Purchasing Agent. Reporting to the Vice President-Corporate Services & Chief Financial Officer, you will be responsible for the efficient and effective procurement of goods and services, as well as inventory management and operation of the Stores Department.
Other responsibilities will include:
Negotiating supplier agreements and managing the tender, quotation and inventory process;
Plan, organize, direct, control and evaluate the purchasing activities including analyzing company needs and aligning resources to complete projects and daily tasks;
Identify and establish vendor relationships which includes coordinating with vendors/suppliers to ensure delivery and distribution of equipment, supplies and services;
The successful candidate requires a post-secondary education in a related field Business, Materials Management, Inventory Control and a Purchasing Designation (PMAC or equivalent) is required.
Minimum of 5 years’ experience and preference will be given to those with Utility Operations experience.
