As a result of our continued growth, ERTH Power is actively recruiting for a Manager, Energy Services and Grid Modernization.  This is an in-office position, located in Ingersoll, ON.

Position Summary

The Manager, Energy Services and Grid Modernization helps to design, develop, and implement advanced electrical grid systems to create more efficient, reliable, and sustainable power network.  This role is responsible for grid intelligence technologies, automation, stations, SCADA, OMS and the day-to-day operations of the metering and smart grid environment. 

General Duties and Responsibilities:

 Metering and AMI

  • Supervise the installation and maintenance of C&I Metering for GS customers and smart metering process for all customers ensuring data accuracy
  • Operation and maintenance of the AMI network and oversight of ERTH’s settlement provider and head end
  • Oversee the day-to-day work planning and scheduling of metering employees

Grid Protection, Modernization and System Engineering

  • Schedule maintenance, repairs, upgrades and capital projects
  • Conduct reliability analysis, load flow studies and provide recommendations for distribution system investment and load growth studies with HONI & IESO
  • Assist with procurement and contract documentation
  • Coordinate internal resources and vendors to ensure effective execution of projects are delivered on time and within budget

Technical Leadership and Support

  • Lead and support the grid modernization by conduction assessments, evaluating technology options, providing technical analysis to develop specification and requirements for advanced technological implementations
  • Technical lead and support for SCADA improvements, emerging DER technologies and protection and control systems
  • Oversee Engineering technologists
  • Management of ERTH Power’s control room, currently operating (5*8 hours, including staff, scheduling, UWPC compliance and outage tracking/reporting.)
  • Management of ERTH’s Energy Portfolio (Solar PV, Geo Thermal, EV charging network etc.)
  • Support technical aspects of program, including site assessments, customer communications etc.

Required Qualifications

  • Degree in Electrical Engineering and licensed as a P. Eng
  • Minimum 5 years of utility experience and 2 years of leadership dealing with regulatory authorities, smart metering, SCADA, electrical distribution system engineering, control room and smart grid technology
