Position Summary:

Reporting to the Vice President of Operations, the Equipment Operator will work alongside line crews and labourers to support excavation and underground electrical construction. The role includes operation of heavy equipment, and training on radial boom derrick line trucks.

Specific Duties:

• Perform excavation for electrical services and underground infrastructure
• Operate heavy equipment safely and efficiently
• Support line crews in construction and maintenance activities
• Maintain accurate work logs and documentation
• Follow all safety regulations, procedures, and company policies
• Respond to emergency callouts as required

Qualifications:

• Valid Ontario Class DZ Driver’s Licence (clean abstract)
• Grade 12 Diploma or equivalent
• Experience operating excavation equipment
• Strong safety record and mechanical aptitude
• Working knowledge of:
• IHSA Electrical Utility Safety Rules
• Occupational Health & Safety Act
• OTM Book 7, WHMIS, CPR & First Aid
• Strong teamwork and communication skills
• Basic computer proficiency
• Physically fit for outdoor work in all weather conditions
• Experienced with locates and locating equipment
