  • six full-time positions for Guelph, Picton, Thorold, Walkerton, Algoma, and Lambton

Hardworking and collaborative, you will be responsible for overseeing the safe completion of the electric meter exchange process for re-verifications, sample meters, and overdue meters, providing annual testing on a wide range of equipment, ordering standard metering equipment for new service upgrade connections, and for inspecting and testing metering equipment to ensure it meets business requirements and government regulations. Excellent at communicating, you will discuss results, provide recommended solutions, and bring all unusual conditions to the Supervisor’s attention. An active problem-solver, you will help with a variety of special tasks including the testing for electromagnetic fields, identification and elimination of radio frequency interference, harmonic distortion complaints, and stray voltage investigations.

You possess your Journeypersons MEA Meter certificate and have four years of experience in the application of the prescribed metering models of the MEA training program. Knowledgeable of electrical and electronic theory and mathematics—and how they apply to power measurement, telecommunications, and related circuitry—you have experience commissioning, troubleshooting, and maintaining a range of metering and telecommunications equipment. You are well versed with a variety of metering software applications, which allows you to troubleshoot metering issues, transfer data files, and perform testing on remote metering.
