AMI COORDINATOR

Full Time Permanent Position Represented by CUPE LOCAL 1000

Halton Hills Hydro Inc. is currently seeking fill the position of AMI Coordinator. This position reports to the Customer Care and AMI Supervisor and is responsible for all aspects of meter data collection and transfers between internal billing and third parties.

Location: On Site: 43 Alice St. Acton, ON

Pay Range: $40.50 – 51.65 per hour (commensurate to experience), 35 hours per week

DUTIES: 

  • Coordinate billing requests between CIS, ODS, and the MDMR; correct bills in off-cycle if necessary;
  • Generate and analyse billing exception error reports;
  • Daily communication with other staff in various departments to ensure accuracy of information; review data and make corrections on a daily basis;
  • Coordinate the work between metering and billing departments; this includes creating and entering work orders for non-functioning meters, installation of repeaters, resolving issues with the billing department regarding communication issues or missing consumption;
  • Identify variances and issues with different meter characteristics issues, and ensure resolution of issues are resolved quickly to prevent data loss;
  • Respond to open Utilismart tickets and work with 3rd parties to resolve any customer issues;
  • Analyse meter data, such as the daily reports from the MDMR, to identify any metering or communication issues to prevent billing errors; interact with 3rd parties to resolve issues as required;
  • Analyse synchronisation reports to ensure daily synchronising of the MDMR to the CIS go through correctly; corrections made to the accounts in CIS may be required;
  • Identify meter issues, such as diagnostic, missing data, shut-offs, etc.;
  • Analyse ODS/MDMR/Utilismart settlement manager billing data;
  • Document procedures as they change; train/instruct Billing and Customer Care on procedure changes as related to MDMR regulations and reporting requirements;
  • Ensure all documentation is filed and accurate for accounting and as per OEB guidelines;
  • Other duties as assigned. 

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS: 

  • Utility billing experience required
  • Minimum two-year college diploma obtained, in Computer Programming/Systems/Science, or equivalent work experience preferred
  • Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written), position requires daily communication with internal staff, external contractors and other 3rd party stakeholders
  • Excellent listening skills to clearly understand situations presented and determine course of action
  • High attention to detail required to ensure a high level of accuracy required is achieved and maintained
  • Strong organisational skills
  • Excellent time management skills to ensure all daily tasks are completed on time, and accurately
  • High level computer skills: demonstrable experience using Microsoft Office Suite effectively, Proficient in Excel and Word
  • Experience with computer software programs: ODS, MDMR, Utilismart, PC-Pro is considered an asset
  • Above-average judgement required for troubleshooting errors, and resolving issues in situations where there may be very little input, guidance, and/ or specific instruction
  • Ability to discern when to escalate issues, and when to involve other areas of expertise
  • Must take initiative to investigate, troubleshoot, and problem solve without regular direction
  • Must possess the ability to work with minimal supervision in order to meet strict deadlines, and cope well under pressure.
