ERTH Power is pleased to announce an immediate opening for a Field Service Technician, located at our Goderich Operations Centre. 

The hourly rate for his role is based on the current collective agreement:  $34.02 start progressing to $42.52 

Position Summary

The Field Service Technician plays a crucial role in supporting daily operations within the Engineering & Operations departments and reports to the Lines Supervisor.   

General Duties and Responsibilities: 

• Perform single phase metering work, including meter changes, record updates, troubleshooting, installs and removals
• Obtain final meter readings, verifications and locate services
• Prepare layout and associated estimate for hydro plant installation for single phase residential services, upgrades and other single phase commercial projects
• Customer interactions including high bill investigations and disconnections
• Process and manage customer service orders, assist in deliveries, pick-ups and inventory control
• Provide support to the Engineering department for larger commercial and industrial projects by collecting field data, attending site visits and provide input based on local conditions
• Assist with contractor inspections in new subdivisions, including attending sit visits, taking measurements and pictures 

 Required Qualifications

• Post secondary diploma in an electrical field
• Successful completion of IHSA Electric Power Meters Training
• Valid Ontario Class G Driver’s License in good standing
• Ability to read and interpret technical documents with a minimum of 1 year experience using CAD software
• Valid First Aid/CPR certification
• Ability to operate locate equipment
• Strong focus on delivering exceptional internal and external customer service
• Ability to work in a physically demanding environment that includes working at heights and extreme weather conditions
