Entera Utility Contractors is a heavy civil and high voltage construction company that has steadily grown to one of the largest electrical utility contractors in the Greater Toronto Area. We are currently hiring for an energetic, self-directed person to join our safety team as a Safety Advisor. 

The Safety Advisor reports to the Manager of Safety & Quality Assurance and will work closely with others in the Safety & Quality Assurance Department.

JOB DESCRIPTION

The Safety Advisor is responsible for the implementation and monitoring of the Safety Program on-site; implementation and verification of control of non-conforming items and to ensure that the highest degree of employee and work site safety are met.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Ensure site actions comply both procedurally and in spirit, with government, client and company occupational health and safety requirements;
• Co-ordinate employee safety training and maintain records
• Conduct Safety Audits
• Conduct Safety Orientation to New Hires and visitors
• Respond to customer concerns and resolve in quick and professional manner
• Assist, advise and coach manager(s) and supervisors with

a. Hazard identification and control

b. Inspections

c. Investigations

d. Reports

e. Orientations

f. Training requirements

g. Job/project safety plans

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

• Post Secondary education in Occupational Health & Safety or a related field
• CRSP preferred
• Basic understanding of word processing and Windows programs
• Adaptable to a flexible work schedule
• Valid G Ontario Drivers License or better
