Meter Data Management Supervisor

 

The Meter Data Management Supervisor is responsible for gathering, validating and ensuring accurate and timely meter data is available
for timely billing. 

The incumbent will be responsible for:

 

  • Accountable for attaining electricity consumption data from all classes of meters through
    various technical systems
  • Ensure a high degree of data integrity through control and  audit of processes and procedures used to
    capture, validate and estimate data
  • Supervise staff, ensure staff have appropriate skill levels to perform tasks; develop,
    coach, monitor and manage performance, productivity
  • Forecast work volumes and labour resourcing, prioritize and manage workflows to ensure
    all billing deadlines are met
  • Perform quality control checks to ensure meter data management systems are functioning
    properly and delivering quality data
  • Through operational analysis, identify and implement effective solutions to meet the
    business goals of the department and organization
  • Ensure programming logic used to validate and estimate data is providing consistent
    and appropriate business results and engage IT troubleshooting teams as appropriate
  • Foster strong working relationships with IT teams to ensure day to day operations are
    effective and high functioning with sufficient level of automation to minimize manual processes
  • Work closely with IT project teams to implement new technology systems or upgrades,
    including requirements gathering, testing and troubleshooting
  • Set appropriate standards, measures and controls to ensure departmental objectives
    are met
  • Oversight of budget for the department
  • Vendor liaison and relationship management as required
  • Manage the evolution and change from manual to automated processes
  • Develops policies, procedures and methodologies for the division and documents as
    appropriate
  • Strong ability to drive technical fixes and future design enhancements of systems
    through working with IT, project and vendor teams
  • Analyze effectiveness of business processes in relation to Billing/Accounts Receivable
    targets and objectives
  • Conduct business process reviews and identify process redesign opportunities which
    maximize efficiencies and achieve audit targets
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements and internal controls
  • MDM Supervisor will have both unionized staff and Business Analysts reporting to
    him/her.

 

Requirements:

  • University Degree in Business, Math, Statistics or related discipline
  • At least 3 years of supervisory experience
  • Previous experience with or exposure to/in data management
  • High degree of analytical skills
  • AMI's, eMeter, Elster, MAS, remote communications technology, Oracle database
    familiarity as asset
  • Creative troubleshooting and problem solving skills
  • Intermediate to advanced Excel, Access skills
  • Technical aptitude and familiarity
  • Extremely detail oriented
  • Business technical leadership
  • Ability to write basic SQL scripts
  • Logical thought processes
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Relationship management
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Understanding of project management principles
