OPERATIONS SUPERVISOR

 

InnPower Corporation is the local distribution company serving more than 16,000 customers in the Town of Innisfil and south Barrie, located north of Toronto near the shores of Lake Simcoe. InnPower Corporation currently has a vacancy for an Operations Supervisor. Reporting to the Operations Manager, you will be responsible for supervising and assisting with the oversight of the field operations of the electrical distribution system which includes the areas of construction, maintenance, service and project coordination. 

Job duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Provide leadership and efficient and effective supervision of operations personnel, contractors, and expenses that impact the Corporation including but not limited to the following: ­ Project Supervision, Emergency Response, Repairs and Restoration of Service, ­ Overall System Reliability and Maintenance.
  • Facilitate the development of efficient, organized, and productive operational work plans (daily, weekly, monthly, etc.).
  • Ensure safe and efficient operations of the Corporation’s electrical distribution system.
  • Responsible for performance coaching/appraisals and the recruitment, development, training, engagement and retention of team members to adequately staff the required work.
  • Assist with ensuring all work orders are completed correctly while meeting the demands of our customers and regulatory requirements.
  • Prepare cost estimates and capital improvement requisitions for projects.
  • Assist with ensuring annual operating and maintenance requirements are completed in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Assist with maintaining adequate inventory, materials and equipment to meet needs.
  • Assist with preparation of monthly reports.
  • Review and ensure all Corporation contractors and employees are Operator Qualified for work being performed.
  • Assist with maintenance and inspection all of the Operations division’s vehicles, equipment and tools.
  • Routinely inspect all work projects to ensure work meets or exceeds requirements.
  • Assist with preparing budgets.
  • Perform routine field inspections of personnel and contractors.

Qualifications 

  • Must have minimum of 10 years of varied experience as a certified powerline maintainer.
  • 3-5 years of experience in line crew supervision.
  • Good knowledge of hydro distribution systems.  
  • 1 to 3 years of experience as a systems operator would be an asset.
  • College diploma in an electrical discipline would be an asset.
  • Knowledge of SCADA systems would be an asset.
  • Excellent health and safety record.
  • Valid Class DZ driver’s license.
  • Standard First Aid/CPR, WHMIS and Work Protection Code.
  • Province of Ontario Boom Truck Operator’s Licence would be an asset.
