High Voltage Electrical Estimator

 

We are a small High Voltage Electrical Contractor experiencing rapid growth. We are in need of an HV Electrical Estimator. 

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Prepare full cost estimates on general tender work
  • Prepare materials, labour and equipment cost estimations necessary to successfully carry out a construction project according to proposals, plans, estimates and specifications
  • Establish unit costs, labour rates, productivity factors and location impacts
  • Evaluate and recommend allowances for indirect costs, design unknowns, escalation and contingency
  • Present estimates and conduct review meetings with clients
  • Review proposal specifications and drawings to determine scope of work and required contents of estimate
  • Prepare estimates by calculating complete takeoff of scope of work
  • Maintain files of working documents as back-up for estimate figures, including current (accurate) information on prices from suppliers through direct contact, sales brochures, price lists, etc.
  • Review all final tender packages to ensure accuracy and completeness, prior to formal quotation 

Qualifications/Positional Requirements:

  • 3+ years’ experience in Electrical Estimating
  • 10+ years’ experience in High Voltage Electrical maintenance and/or construction industry
  • Project Management experience is recommended
  • 309A License or P.Eng is an asset.
  • Expert on reviewing blueprints and technical drawings
  • Experience with take-off procedures and bid preparation
  • Understanding of Engineering and ESA codes
  • Good communication skills to work with Clients and Suppliers
  • Strong attention to detail, computer work and organizational skills
  • Is Autonomous, methodical and process driven
