FOREMEN—TRANSMISSION

 

Overview

This role oversees the crew’s performance during the construction and completion of transmission projects across the province. These positions will appeal to individuals with both high and low voltage Power Sector experience, who are interested in working in both transmission and distribution

 

Accountabilities

  • Maintain, update and complete reports, work orders, work procedures, specifications, records and documentation related to the position
  • Operate, inspect and maintain equipment associated with the transmission project
  • Conduct daily tailboard meetings with crews and assign work and completion deadlines
  • Ensures crews work safely and assist with technical expertise on site. Lead safety meetings and participate in incident investigations 

  • Experience & Education 
  • Red Seal Powerline Technician Interprovincial Certificate is preferred
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience as a Red Seal Powerline Technician with experience in transmission
  • Class DZ license is required

 

Skills

  • Ability to lead, mentor and provide technical guidance to a work crew
  • Knowledge of OHSA, the EUSA Rule Book, and the Utility Work Protection Code
  • Strong commitment to workplace safety
  • Exceptional problem solving skills and a collaborative approach in determining course of action
  • Strong communication, customer service and leadership skills are essential
  • Basic computer skills are required
