About the Role 

We are looking for a dynamic individual with exceptional customer service and technical skills. Working in a non-routine and very complex environment, this position oversees infrastructure, network and various organization-wide technologies. This position provides support in various IT areas: Datacenter servers, including storage and server provisioning, cloud/network/application management, network security, end-user support, phone/voicemail administration, and special projects as needed.

Accountabilities Include:

  • Design, provision, implement and support the servers, storage and collaborations infrastructure services, including all hardware and software components enterprise wide
  • Manage application server provisioning, deployment and implementation processes, including gathering business and technical requirements
  • Develop technical solutions and architecture, evaluate risk and develop assessments for proposed technology 
  • Maintain vendor management, hardware and software asset management and maintenance and licensing compliance
  • Ensure the datacenter application servers, storage capacity planning and related resources, are operating within pre-defined operating levels
  • Manage all proactive tuning activities for the above
  • Recommend and execute changes and modification to the IT infrastructure environment in order to improve efficiency, reliability and performance
  • Develop and maintain appropriate levels of documentation for all datacenter infrastructure services, systems and related components
  • Develop and maintain appropriate levels of documentation for all operational processes and procedures, project files and ensure an effective level of protection and integrity of organizational data and assets
  • Ensure IT corporate standards, internal processing controls and audit controls are maintained in an effective manner.
  • Participate in the preparation and execution of the IT Disaster Recovery, Business Continuity and Incident Response activities and security assessments
  • Provide advice, consultation and quotes to the IT teams and affiliated family of companies, by gathering requirements, researching solutions and evaluate alternatives
  • Lead project teams as required, comprised of members of the IT team and other departments, providing technical expertise in selection and implementation of IT solutions supporting business needs and initiatives 

Qualifications and work experience:

  • University degree in Computer Science, Electronic Engineering, Information Technology or related discipline or related work experience
  • Experience managing/overseeing external vendors and maintaining vendor relationships
  • Demonstrated experience and knowledge of help desk practices, and managing internal customer expectations
  • CCNP (Cisco Certified Network Professional) is an asset
  • MCSE (Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer) is an asset
  • Minimum 5 -7 years in a similar role with previous experience in planning, design, implementation /engineering role supporting complex multi-vendor enterprise environments, implementing complex datacenter infrastructure solutions using Microsoft, VMware, Linux and Cisco Technologies
