Operations Department

requires a

General Foreperson

Reporting to the Senior Foreperson, the General Foreperson administers and manages the maintenance and capital projects in the Operations Department of Brantford Power Inc. The incumbent maintains records in the field within the Overhead and Underground Operations Division both manually and in a computerized format and schedules work in order of priority or time line whether it is unexpected or planned in advance. The General Foreperson ensures a high standard of customer satisfaction and that tasks are completed safely and within budget.

Applicants must hold a valid Red Seal 434A Powerline Technician Certificate, or equivalent in order to be considered (if the successful candidate does not already possess a valid Red Seal 434A Certificate, Brantford Power will support the successful applicant in obtaining their Red Seal 434A Certificate within 12 months of appointment to this position). Applicants require a valid DZ drivers license and a current UWPC certification in order to be considered. Previous supervisory experience, within an electrical utility environment would be an asset. Knowledge of the specifications and safe work practices in the E.U.S.A. Rule Book and the Occupational Health & Safety Act is absolutely necessary. Candidates should have demonstrable experience in substations, switchgear and underground cable and transformer installations at voltages up to 27.6 kV, and be fully familiar with all components of work execution details for overhead and underground work up to 27.6 KV. If the successful candidate does not already possess an Ontario Master Electrician License, Brantford Power will support the successful applicant in obtaining their Master Electrician License within 12 months of appointment to this position. Strong management; communication, planning skills and computer experience are essential for success in the position. All applicants are required to be part of an On Call rotation that includes being able to respond to an after hours emergency within 30 minutes of receiving the call. Applicants may be required to undergo skills assessment testing and medical testing.
