LINE SUPERVISOR (Kenora)

SYNERGY NORTH currently has an opening for the position of Line Supervisor (Kenora) in the Power Systems Division. 

Under the general direction and guidance of the Line Superintendent, as part of a team of Line Supervisors, is responsible for assigning, directing, and supervising crews in the construction and maintenance of the Power Line Department. 

Applicants with the following qualifications are invited to submit their interest: 

Mandatory Qualifications:

Secondary school graduation together with the completion of a provincially recognized Journeyman Powerline Technician Program and a minimum of 8 years experience in the construction and maintenance aspects of an Electrical Distribution Utility, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Must have previous experience as a “working supervisor” in a Lead Hand, Temporary Lead Hand, or Acting Supervisor role. Thorough knowledge of 4kV, 12kV, and 25kV distribution systems and associated transformation / control / monitoring equipment. Experience in job planning and overall project management. Knowledge of the Utility Work Protection Code, Electrical Safety Rules, WHMIS, Transportation of Dangerous Goods and Working at Heights, Ontario Electrical Safety Code, and any other applicable legislation, rules, or practices. A demonstrated commitment to continuous improvement, frontline leadership in the areas of safety, teambuilding, training, efficiency, and productivity is necessary. Must have excellent interpersonal, organizational, customer service, decision making, problem solving, and communication (verbal and written) skills. Must be competent within the meaning of a Supervisor as per the Occupational Health and Safety Act. 

Preferred Qualifications:

Proficiency in the use of computers (including data entry), and Microsoft Office software. 

Conditions of Employment:

Must have and maintain a valid Class A driver’s licence with “Z” endorsement. Must be willing to work out-of-town and be available to work overtime and on-call as required. Must successfully complete a Police Information Check.
