Halton Hills Hydro Inc. is currently seeking a dynamic, highly motivated individual to fill the position of NETWORK ADMINISTRATOR. Under the direction of the IT MANAGER, the successful candidate will be a member of the IT team and the Leadership Team. The position is accountable for the design, installation, configuration, optimization, administration, maintenance and security of information technology (IT) & operational technology (OT) network communication services in 24x7 mission critical environment. This position requires an individual with the agility and capability to manage, prioritize and expedite multiple IT/OT networking assignments. The position is required to recommend and implement appropriate security controls to protect the Halton Hills Hydro Inc. information assets from unauthorized access and compromise/loss and to mitigate cyber related risks. 

The Network Administrator has excellent communication and customer relation skills, fostering cooperation and collaboration with internal and external stakeholders, end-users and key Managed Service Providers. 

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: 

The duties and responsibilities for this position will include, but not be limited to, the following: 

  • Manage, operate and administer IT/OT network and voice infrastructure solutions and technologies including LAN/WAN, VPN, VLAN and hardware (servers, switches, routers, firewalls);
  • Develop, implement and manage backup, disaster recovery/business continuity plans and vulnerability management of OT (ICS/SCADA) network;
  • Engage in network and IP planning to optimize switching and system performance;
  • Develop and maintain up-to-date system and network documentation and diagrams;
  • Direct Operations Department with OT network troubleshooting in real-time;
  • Oversee IT network communications providing direction to IT resources;
  • Provide Incident Response to all aspects of the network (LAN/WAN/WLAN) across the organization;
  • Provide architectural expertise, direction, and assistance to the Leadership Team and their respective Business Units;
  • Research, evaluate, recommend and implement new technologies using concept of Security by Design;
  • Negotiate contracts with, and coordinate the activities of, network and telecommunication vendors;
  • Required to work off hours when necessary to address issues or projects;
  • Explore opportunities to provide additional value to the company and its customers; and
  • Other duties as assigned. 

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS: 

  • College Diploma or Bachelor degree in computer science, or combination of education and equivalent work experience;
  • Minimum 7 years of experience administering mission critical IT/OT networks;
  • Certifications given preference: CCNA, CCNP, CCIE, CCNP Security, CISSP or CISM;
  • Operational Technology (ICS/SCADA) networking and security monitoring a plus;
  • MS SQL experience would be considered an asset;
  • Proven advanced troubleshooting, problem solving and analytical skills for timely resolution of complex infrastructure events and assignments;
  • Experience with Incident Response, Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity Planning;
  • Knowledge or understanding of NIST framework;
  • Advanced organization and technical skills to support independent management and timely completion of work plan assignments and priorities;
  • Service-oriented and strong collaborator; excellent interpersonal and communication skills; and
  • A valid Ontario class G driver's license in good standing.
