BILLING ANALYST

 

Guelph Hydro’s Customer Service and Billing department requires a Billing Analyst with a strong knowledge and understanding of the billing structure and MDMR/ODS transactions. Reporting directly to the Manager of Customer Service and Billing, or in his/her absence to the Acting Director of Customer Service and Billing, you will be required to fulfill the following:

 

DUTIES AND RESPONSABILITIES

 

  • Setup and test electrical and water rates and      ensure the accuracy of the billing charges
  • Maintain      detailed records of all account configurations
  • Verify the bills prior and after the issuance      ensuring the bills are produced according to the billing schedule
  • Prepare      queries and documentation in support of IESO, and Smart Metering Entity      reconciliation
  • Review, troubleshoot and solve issues related to      MDM/R Data Collection Reports
  • Review, troubleshoot and solve issues related to      MDM/R VEE Processing Reports
  • Analyze the ODS reports, and resolve the      diagnostic errors
  • Initiate, develop and maintain procedures for      investigating and solving issues related to MDM/R Data Collection and VEE      Processing reports
  • Test new billing system versions      (updates/upgrades) and identify issues related to implementing the new      version in production; keep track of and inform billing department on      changes
  • Work with the       IT department on developing queries and documentation in support of      billing, finance, regulatory reconciliations as necessary and per requests
  • Be the lead in resolving any complicated issues      related to billing charges creation and bill print
  • Create and follow up cases with HTE/Sungard for      billing system issues
  • Liaison between Billing and Metering departments      on smart metering matters
  • Dealing with      confidential and price sensitive information, a very good understanding of      the IESO’s Practice Direction on Confidential Filings, Transactions, and      File Transfers is required

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

 

  • University      Degree with Major in Electrical Engineering, IT, or Business
  • 1 to 2      years relevant experience
  • Excellent organizational skills and analytical      thinking
  • Proficient      in Microsoft Office Applications with advanced Excel spreadsheet skills, working experience with      HTE/Naviline billing program would be an asset
  • A proven ability to work under pressure within      stringent deadlines and competing priorities
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a      team 
  • Proven      operational skills in a computerized network dependent environment and the      ability to quickly learn and adapt to new systems and processes
  • Good      communication, interpersonal and organizational skills.
