LAW CLERK
Job Summary
The Law Clerk will be considered an integral component within The MEARIE Group’s in-house legal team assisting the VP of Legal & Corporate Affairs with corporate secretarial functions, including Board and Committee meetings, Board services, AGM organization and maintenance of corporate records, organization of corporate Contracts and assisting with the management of external litigation.
Reporting to and working directly with the VP of Legal & Corporate Affairs, the incumbent will also support the claims litigation function, assist with managing external counsel litigation and legal fee management.
The ideal Law Clerk must have good knowledge of the P&C insurance industry, excellent comprehension of existing insurance laws, corporate governance documents, and drafting of basic Contracts. The candidate must be able to thrive in a fast-paced team environment and understand the job requirements.
Department Summary
The Legal and Corporate Affairs Department has oversight on all Legal matters, Corporate Governance, Claims, Privacy, Human Resources and Marketing/Communications within The MEARIE Group.
