Valard Construction LP is currently seeking local experienced Underground Powerline Technician Apprentice - Level 3-4, in Concord, Ontario. Valard Construction LP is Canada’s premier utility contractor, as well as head of the Valard Group of Companies AND part of the Quanta Group, the largest electrical power contractor in North America. Valard has full-service capabilities for transmission, distribution, substations, foundations, telecommunications, and renewable energy.

Please note while this position starts in Underground all apprentices must rotate through Underground and Overhead departments for experience.

Requirements

• Valid Confined Space Cert
• Must live within 40 km of Operations in Concord
• Previous Toronto Hydro experience would be asset
• UWPC would be an asset
• Class DZ mandatory (preference to AZ)
• Exposure to splicing considered and asset
• Standard First Aid (CPR/AED) would be an asset
• Previous Toronto Hydro experience would be asset
• Must be fully covid-19 vaccinated (14 days post vaccine) by Oct 30th as per customer requirements.
• Must be willing to join Canadian Union of Skilled Workers
