JOURNEYMAN LINEMAN/LEARNER LINEMAN

 

Orangeville Hydro Limited is a community active, progressive small utility servicing 11,600 customers in the Town of Orangeville and the Town of Grand Valley.  We are seeking a focused, dynamic, highly motivated individual to join our team. 

 

We invite applicants who are experienced and competent team players with exceptional mechanical aptitude, strong knowledge of electric circuit theory, interested in all aspects of constructing and maintaining overhead and underground electricity distribution systems to apply.

 

Interested candidates must submit a confidential resume expressing their interest in the position, outlining their education, experience and related qualifications.  The successful candidate will have the following minimum qualifications:

 

QUALIFICATIONS

 

  • Journeyman Lineman/Learner Lineman applicants must possess or be capable of progressing through an apprenticeship program(8,000 hours on the job training combined with industry required education) to achieve Journeyman Lineman Certification
  • High level of competence in completing required documentation and reports on a daily basis
  • Demonstrated mechanical aptitude and a solid understanding of electric circuit theory
  • Community college diploma in electrical technology or a related field of study is an asset
  • Valid class ‘DZ’ driver’s license and excellent driving record
  • Proven ability to work effectively and safely in a team setting
  • Physically able to perform essential duties of the position including regular on-call duties and the ability to reliably respond to emergency call-outs within thirty minutes
  • Knowledge of Electrical Safety Authority Regulation 22/04, Utility Protection Code, MTO
  • Secondary School Graduation Diploma;

Book #7, WHMIS, CPR, First Aid and all other applicable legislation

  • Ability to work with confidence both aloft and within confined spaces
  • Demonstrated company values, in particular respect in the workplace, ethics and working safely
