Adjudicative Innovation and Technology Advisor

This is an exciting opportunity for an individual who likes intellectually challenging work in a collaborative environment that fosters innovation and creativity. In this role, you will be responsible for leading projects to enhance the efficiency, effectiveness, and value of the OEB’s adjudicative process through technology. This includes understanding and analyzing the OEB’s existing workflows and considering how to enhance the value and efficiency of adjudicative functions for both internal and external stakeholders.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead implementation of technology projects on behalf of the Registrar’s Office, and work collaboratively with the OEB’s IT department and external consultants as required
  • Help develop and analyze business requirements leading to the design, development, and implementation of new technology in the Registrar’s Office and the adjudicative process more broadly
  • Work collaboratively with staff involved in the adjudicative process to establish business requirements and business processes
  • Help translate business requirements and business processes into functional and technical specifications and related business design documents
  • Monitor and report on project status, and escalate projects at risk to management
  • Maintain project documentation, such as business cases, project plans, status reports, change requests, and approvals
  • Gain acceptance of proposed changes from diverse stakeholders
  • Roll out technology changes to staff, including providing training
  • Communicate regularly and maintain proactive relationships with the OEB’s IT department and adjudicative technology users, both internal and external to the OEB

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Undergraduate degree preferred in, but not limited to, Engineering, Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Administration, or related discipline
  • Graduate degree is an asset
  • PMI, PMP, IIBA, ITIL certification is an asset
  • 5+ years’ experience working in Information Technology project management; 8+ years preferred
  • Experience working in a regulated industry and/or at a tribunal is an asset
  • Experience in the OEB’s adjudicative process and energy regulation in Ontario is an asset
  • Previous experience in managing and leading technology projects of varying complexity and sensitivity
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills that cater to all levels in the organization and externally
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills to evaluate information, identify and analyze issues, and develop recommendations
  • Adaptability to work effectively, and produce high-quality work, in a variety of situations and with various individuals or groups Advanced knowledge in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, MS Project, SharePoint)
  • Experience using data analysis tools (Power BI, Power Apps, MS SQL, Oracle BI, Tableau, Python)
