Senior Treasury, Risk Management & ESG Analyst

Reporting to the Corporate Controller, the Senior Treasury, Risk Management and ESG Analyst will be responsible for Treasury, Risk Management, and Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) analysis and reporting for the Corporation and its affiliates.  

Responsibilities will include the preparation of short and long-term cash flow analysis, reporting, and providing recommendations to management on investment and financing activities, maintenance and continued development of the Corporation’s Enterprise Risk Management framework, and the development, implementation, and reporting of ESG metrics. 

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain short-term and long-term cash flow forecasts including trending analysis and projection of cash inflows and outflows.
  • Evaluate existing and new banking products and services, including cost/benefit analysis.
  • Review and monitor cash and banking activities including investments, account transfers, customer deposits, and interest and repayments on borrowings.
  • Ensure adequate liquidity for working capital needs and provide recommendations to management on borrowing needs and/or investment opportunities.
  • Preparation of analysis and reporting to support the information requirements of the rating agency, including the annual review process.
  • Review quarterly and annual compliance certificates and supporting financial covenant calculations.
  • Preparation of analysis and due diligence documentation required to support debt financing activities.
  • Assist in the continuous development and maintenance of the Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) framework, including risk assessments, identification of risk mitigation strategies, regular reporting, and recommendations to management.
  • Liaise and consult with departments to identify and evaluate enterprise risks and opportunities which will be incorporated into quarterly and annual risk reporting.
  • Preparation of annual insurance applications, including co-ordination and collection of data, and related analysis to ensure appropriate insurance coverage for the Corporation.  
  • Conduct ongoing monitoring, research, and quantitative analysis on complex risk issues including identification and evaluation of emerging risks.  
  • Support the development of ESG metrics and prepare computations, analysis, and regular reporting.  Engaged in the development and preparation of the Corporation’s annual report.
  • On-going research, monitoring and implementation of ESG reporting standards. 
  • Research and implement new tools, automation, and reporting to enhance productivity and efficiencies.
  • Support the implementation and compliance of internal controls, policies, and procedures.
  • Other ad-hoc financial activities and support, as required. 

Qualifications 

  • Post-secondary degree in Finance, Business, Accounting, or equivalent.
  • Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) or Certified Treasury Professional (CTP) designation is required.
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in treasury or risk management.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.
  • Strong analytical, critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Financial modelling and data analysis skills.
  • Strong project management and organization skills with ability to multi-task and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work independently, as well as in a team-oriented environment.
  • Advanced knowledge of Excel is essential. Proficient in other Microsoft Office products including Word and Power Point.
  • Knowledge of IFRS accounting principles and sustainability reporting standards and developing/reporting ESG metrics.
  • Personal ethics and commitment to sustainability and social responsibility.
  • Experience with financial management systems and reporting software, including Dynamics GP, BI tools and Workiva would be a definite asset.
