Regulatory Analyst

Reports to the Manager, Regulatory Applications and Accounting, and plays a key role in our day-to-day operations, projects and initiatives that will support our vision of empowering the communities we serve. This role will provide exposure to all aspects of regulatory affairs within a fast-growing electricity distributor, with the intention of growing and maturing the function.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

+       Assists in the preparation of applications, submissions, research, and analysis that supports compliance with OEB Reporting & Record-keeping Requirements and other projects.

+       Coordinates data-gathering and evidence development across all lines of business in support of complex regulatory filings

+       Assists with development of major applications to the Ontario Energy Board: coordinating exhibits, preparing, and reviewing materials to support lines of business in building the application record, liaising with external consultants in the             preparation of studies and reports.

+       Works closely with the Manager, Regulatory Applications and Accounting to manage, track, and report on various regulatory projects.

+       Assists with coordinating responses to industry data requests and responses for regulatory/government agencies.

+       Contributes to the implementation, maintenance, and enhancement of processes for the Regulatory Affairs team.

+       Works with other lines of business to coordinate new process workflows resulting from government/regulatory directions.

+       Other duties as required may be considered part of these responsibilities.

KEY SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS

+       Knowledge of Ontario Energy Board reporting requirements, policies, and rate applications processes is strongly preferred.

+       Strong organizational and project management skills.

+       High proficiency in M365 applications: Excel, SharePoint, PowerPoint, and Teams.

+       Ability to communicate, task, and problem-solve with executive, senior management, and support staff.

+       Knowledge of IFRS.

+       Ability to work with minimal supervision.

+       Strong analytical and organizational skills.

+       Skilled writer with proficiency in technical, regulatory subject matter. 

+       Strong organizational and time management skills.

+       Detail oriented and ability to function as a team player.

 

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

+       5 years' experience supporting regulatory processes such as reporting and applications.

+       University degree or additional five years related experience.
