What You Will do:

Are you seeking a dynamic role within the utility industry, which is currently experiencing significant changes? Do you possess the leadership qualities, strategic thinking, and commitment necessary to guide a team towards enhancing their skills and becoming industry leaders? This opportunity offers the chance to broaden your leadership horizon and play a crucial role in the energy transition. Reporting to the Manager, Engineering & Innovation as a key contributor of the Grid Modernization department, you will support a diverse range of initiatives, including distribution infrastructure projects, electrification, innovation, and grid modernization efforts. Below are the detailed responsibilities for this pivotal position

  • Assist in the planning and execution of capital projects, including coordination with internal teams and external stakeholders.
  • Monitor project schedules and milestones, ensuring alignment with timelines and deliverables.
  • Track and report on project progress, identifying and addressing any risks or delays.
  • Support the Manager, Engineering & Innovation in tracking the capital budget for ongoing and upcoming projects.
  • Assist with cost estimation, budget updates, and financial reporting.
  • Act as a primary point of contact for customers regarding project timelines and expectations.
  • Coordinate with customers to schedule activities such as service connections and maintenance outages.
  • Address customer concerns and provide updates on project progress.
  • Prepare project documentation, including schedules, progress reports, and meeting minutes.
  • Maintain accurate records of project activities and decisions.
  • Support the development of project-related presentations and reports.

What You Will Bring:

  • Post-secondary education in Engineering, Project Management, or a related field.
  • 1–3 years of experience in project coordination, preferably within the utility or construction sectors.
  • Knowledge of project management principles, tools, and techniques.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project) and project management software.
  • Familiarity with capital budgeting and financial tracking is an asset.
  • A proactive, strategic thinker with strong organizational skills.
  • A self-starter with strong problem-solving skills and a collaborative leadership style.
  • Valid Class G Driver’s License with a clean driving record.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work with multiple stakeholder groups and a commitment to fostering a positive and inclusive workplace culture.
