Supervisor Hydro Distribution

Location: Windsor, ON

Reporting to the Manager Hydro Distribution, the successful applicant will be the primary management resource directly responsible for the administration of staff, material, equipment, and contractor resources utilized in the inspection, maintenance, and construction of all ENWIN overhead and underground plant. The incumbent will devise, implement and administer inspection and preventative maintenance programs, oversee the plans and reactive repairs to malfunctioning equipment within the distribution system and supervise the construction of new infrastructure. The Supervisor, Hydro Distribution will be a key consultative resource for project design and will act as a representative of the ENWIN safety program through job planning, crew briefings and conducting crew visits. The successful candidate will be required to oversee and work on an on-call schedule, responding to after-hours emergencies; on call premiums may apply.

The successful applicant must have the following skills and competencies:

  • Journeyperson Powerline Technician with demonstrated overhead and underground experience.
  • Minimum 5 (five) years as a Journeyperson and demonstrated experience in a leadership capacity.
  • Master Electrician licence will be considered an asset.
  • Ability to work on varying shifts, respond to emergency calls after hours, and work in all types of weather and environments.
  • Successful completion of management development courses and/or demonstrated equivalent management or business experience will be considered an asset.
  • Demonstrated ability of excellent verbal and written communication skills, tact, diplomacy, creativity and conflict resolution skills.
  • Proven ability to make timely and effective decisions.
  • In depth knowledge of safety equipment, procedures and rules and a proven commitment to developing and promoting safe work practices.
  • Ability to assess hazards related to work assigned to crews and ensure appropriate barriers and measures are taken to protect staff and reduce identified risks.
  • Ability to resolve problems, assess needs and delegate work in a manner that motivates others and develops individual skills.
  • Demonstrated project planning skills, ability to multi-task and oversee several projects simultaneously.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings including wiring schematics, layout drawings and system maps.
  • Demonstrated awareness of current business issues, trends and priorities.
  • Ability to work with various departments and stakeholders using various communication platforms.
  • Good working knowledge with computers and business software packages such as Microsoft Office, SAP, Outlook.
  • Minimum valid class DZ Driver’s License; AZ Driver’s License preferred.

Salary Range for Qualified Candidates: $106,657 – $117,884
