OUTSIDE PLANT TECHNICIAN / Agilis Networks

Position: OUTSIDE PLANT TECHNICIAN 

Location: SUDBURY, ONTARIO

AGILIS Networks, a division of Greater Sudbury Utilities, connects businesses and communities in Barrie and Sudbury, with fibre-based telecommunications infrastructure and services by building connections for life.  We are growing and currently looking to add an energetic team member whose values match ours.

What We’re Looking For:

The ideal candidate will bring a combination of technical expertise, industry experience, and a passion for delivering excellent service.

Qualifications and Skills:

• A two-year college diploma in a technical program or equivalent education.
• Approximately 4–5 years of relevant experience in the telecommunications industry.
• Ability to work from blueprints, sketches, technical manuals, specifications, or reports.
• Familiarity with:
• Electrical Safety Code for Ontario
• Technical Standards & Safety Authority (TSSA)
• Ontario Occupational Health & Safety Act and Regulations
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and analytical skills.
• Knowledge of telecom locating and 48-volt DC systems.
• Knowledge of splicing (an asset).
• Possession of a valid driver’s license.

Other Requirements:

• Working at heights is a key part of this role.
• Some overnight travel will be required.
• Ability to establish and maintain professional relationships with customers and external agencies.
