We are presently inviting applications for the Full-Time position of Line Supervisor

SUMMARY OF DUTIES:

  • Responsible for direct supervision of the activities relating to the operation and maintenance of the distribution systems.
  • Responsible for coordinating activities of internal and external resources to ensure safe and efficient work process
  • Responsible for the quality and quantity of work, maintenance of work schedules and safety of all personnel working under his/her supervision, and the safety of the public.
  • Responsible for all associated administrative functions as required to be performed by this position.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Powerline Technician Certification or Construction & Maintenance Electrician 309A/Master Electrician License
  • 8-10 years’ experience in a Powerline Technician role or in similar hydro line work
  • Class G license
  • Class DZ license is an asset
  • Advanced knowledge of the Ontario Electrical Safety Code
  • Advanced knowledge of the Utility Work Protection Code
  • Advanced knowledge of electrical distribution systems
  • Intermediate knowledge of the contents and administration of the collective agreement
  • Intermediate knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety requirements as it relates to individuals, the organization and operational requirements
  • Possess excellent communication skills with the ability to communicate, electronically, in writing and verbally with all levels of the corporation.
  • Must be prepared to work under adverse conditions and be available for On Call duty as required
  • Proficient with technology and be willing to champion its use on a day to day basis.
