Project Co-ordinator – Northeast St. Thomas, Ontario

Entegrus Powerlines, requires a Project Co-ordinator (Northeast Region).  Reporting to the Manager of Engineering, this position will provide administrative support for the scheduling and planning of distribution construction projects and activities.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Initiate and queue work requests from various sources originating within and from outside of the company.
  • Schedule work activities in cooperation with the various departmental managers.
  • Check work packages for completeness and call for locates when required.
  • Communicate with Electricians/Builders/Contractors/Homeowners to coordinate processing of: New Services, Planned Capital Work, Upgrades, Disconnect/Reconnects, FIT/MicroFIT Activity.
  • Track and manage project invoicing to third parties (e.g. private locates, relocations, damage claims) using the Quadra estimation system in cooperation with Accounting.
  • Establish, track and publish key program metrics and System Quality Indicators, ensure that completed work is catalogued and any affected assets are recorded in the appropriate corporate databases.
  • Act as a key liaison between Engineering, Operations, Metering, and Customer Service.
  • Compile any and all related information, as requested by Management, while continuously seeking to improve the planning and scheduling processes with input from stakeholders.
  • Provide back up in the absence of the Project Planner. 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Education: Requires minimum of a college diploma in Business or Office Administration.  A diploma in a technical or electricity-related field would be an asset.
  • Experience: Minimum of two years project management experience or five years working in the electrical distribution industry co-ordinating customer/company related projects.
  • Knowledge: Must have sufficient understanding and experience in the electrical distribution business in order to gauge and appreciate project scope and scale, as well as providing a basis for discussions with contractors and electricians. Specific experience and/or knowledge with financial software tools (e.g. Dayforce, Business Central, NorthStar, Quadra), and Geographic Information Systems (e.g. ESRI) and Database reporting tools (e.g. SQL Server) would be an asset.
  • Skills: Must demonstrate written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills. Must have strong organizational skills including records management. Must be proficient in the use of common office productivity tools, such as Microsoft office.

This position is a full-time union position with compensation based on the IBEW Collective Agreement.  Hours of work are from 7:30 a.m. until 4:00 p.m., Monday-Friday.
