SUPPLY CAHIN COORDINATOR

ABOUT THIS OPPORTUNITY

Reporting to the Manager, Supply Chain, the incumbent will assist with managing the day-to-day functions within the Stores Warehouse.  The incumbent will supply parts and materials, as requested, by user departments and maintain accurate records of these transactions.  This position will provide support by maintaining inventories, stocking shelves and preparing correspondence for the purpose of purchasing minor supplies, equipment, or services.

Hourly Rate: $36.32- $46.54 per our Collective Agreement with IBEW 636

AS THE SUCCESSFUL APPLICANT, YOU HAVE THE OPPORTUNITY TO BE INVOLVED WITH:

  • Issue, return, ship and receive materials to or from user departments or vendors and input these transactions on the computer systems;
  • Process received goods including: transporting, shelving, disposal of packaging and may include manual lifting and carrying of goods;
  • Processes and prepares purchase orders and requisitions by obtaining specifications, obtaining supervisor's approval and to notify vendors of the need for supplies and expediting goods and/or services;
  • Composes and/or types correspondence with vendors regarding wrong merchandise sent, shortages, over shipments, or delivery reminders to resolve any problems that arise between the corporation and the vendor;
  • Prepares and types various reports such as gasoline usage, surplus property available, or maintenance performed to provide written documentation of activities or properties;
  • Perform cycle counts; monitor, record and report inventory levels to the Supply Chain Manager;
  • Participate in annual inventory count;
  • Issue safety equipment and materials and WHMIS information as specified by Safety and Training Supervisor;
  • Provide support and assistance to the Supply Chain Manager as required;
  • Implement recycling programs including reel returns Perform minor repairs to facilities and tools and arrange for other repairs as required. 

WHAT YOU HAVE TO OFFER:

  • Minimum secondary school diploma level;
  • Purchasing and procurement practices and regulations;
  • Possess a valid ‘G’ license with a clean abstract;
  • Inventory and warehouse management procedures;
  • Modern office equipment operation, practices;
  • Filing systems;
  • Computer literacy;
  • Material handling procedures;
  • Lift truck training and experience;
  • Safety training including: lift truck operation, WHMIS;
  • Understand written and verbal instructions;
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with vendors, departmental officials, and the public;
  • Communicate sufficiently to explain purchasing processes.
