Reporting to the President & CEO, the EVP & CFO is one of the organization’s enterprise leaders. This role carries broad strategic scope and visible impact, guiding financial strength, shaping major business decisions, influencing long-range planning and helping position the utility to thrive in a complex and evolving energy environment.

With executive oversight spanning Finance, Customer Experience, Regulatory Affairs and IT & Client Services, the role demands a leader who can translate strategy into execution, align diverse priorities and bring clarity to high-stakes decisions. The successful candidate will combine financial depth with enterprise vision, commercial judgment and strong leadership presence.

WHAT YOU WILL LEAD

Enterprise leadership and strategic influence

  • As part of the Executive team, you will help shape corporate strategy, business planning, governance, enterprise risk oversight and major investment decisions
  • Lead and inspire senior leaders across multiple portfolios, building alignment, accountability, succession strength and enterprise-wide thinking

Financial stewardship, capital strategy and performance

  • Provide executive oversight across financial planning and analysis, budgeting, forecasting, reporting, accounting, taxation, treasury, audit, analytics, capital planning and investment evaluation
  • Shape long-term financial strategy to support asset renewal, grid modernization, growth opportunities and affordability objectives while protecting financial strength
  • Lead banking and financing relationships, liquidity management, capital structure considerations and financial analysis for significant business cases and infrastructure programs
  • Use metrics, analytics and business insight to drive performance, sharpen decision-making and improve enterprise outcomes
  • Ensure strong audit, compliance and financial control practices that reinforce credibility, transparency and operational discipline
  • Monitor legislative and regulatory developments affecting financial reporting and ensure compliance with all applicable legal and regulatory requirements

Customers, Regulatory and Digital IT Leadership

  • Provide executive oversight for Customer Experience ensuring service delivery, billing, collections, communications and complaint resolution reflect responsiveness, transparency and care
  • Champion technology and transformation that strengthen service quality, accessibility, trust and the end-to-end customer journey while balancing affordability and operational effectiveness
  • Direct Regulatory strategy and oversight, including Rate Applications, evidence development, financial modelling, stakeholder engagement and hearing support
  • Maintain strong alignment with legislative, governance and regulatory obligations while anticipating sector developments and their business implications
  • Provide executive oversight for IT & Client Services so that systems, data, cybersecurity priorities and digital platforms remain secure, reliable and aligned to business strategy
  • Sponsor modernization and technology-enabled transformation that improves decision support, customer outcomes and organizational readiness for future growth

WHAT YOU WILL BRING

  • A powerful mix of strategic, commercial and financial acumen with the ability to connect operational, regulatory, customer and technology considerations into clear executive direction
  • A proven record of leading senior leaders, influencing Boards and stakeholders and creating alignment across complex portfolios
  • Exceptional analytical judgment and decision-making capability, including the ability to evaluate enterprise trade-offs, quantify risk and guide high-impact investments
  • Experience leading change in a Regulated and evolving environment, including modernization, transformation, process redesign or digital advancement
  • Experienced corporate oversight with a non-regulated energy environment an asset
  • The communication range and relationship-building skills to present complex matters clearly to executives, regulators, municipal stakeholders, customers and external partners
  • The judgment, integrity, credibility and executive presence required for a highly visible leadership role with broad internal and external influence.

YOUR EXPERIENCE

  • A university degree in finance, accounting, economics, business administration or a related discipline, with a CPA designation required or strongly preferred; an MBA or equivalent executive education is an asset
  • A minimum of 10 years of progressive leadership experience, including significant executive-level responsibility in finance or corporate services within Ontario’s regulated electricity sector or the broader energy industry
  • Demonstrated success in regulated utility finance, rate applications, regulatory strategy, capital planning, treasury, audit, taxation, enterprise risk and board-level reporting
  • Strong knowledge of Ontario’s energy landscape, including the role of the Ontario Energy Board, sector economics, electrification, affordability pressures, grid modernization and customer expectations
  • Experience leading or overseeing functions beyond core finance — such as regulatory affairs, customer experience, information technology, shared services or transformation — will be highly valued
