Vice President, Energy Services and Generation

The Vice President, Energy Services & Generation will report to the Chief Operating Officer, Energy & Infrastructure Services (EIS). The incumbent will execute the organizational strategy along with annual business objectives for the Energy Services and Generation lines of business; enabling growth and achieving competitive differentiation. The individual will lead an existing Energy Services business as well as a portfolio of renewable Generation projects. This position is focused on managing the P&L while identifying and developing new business opportunities.

This role is expected to have a meaningful business impact specific to operational excellence, financial performance, and continued business growth.

Position Accountability & Responsibility:

  • Execute on the organizational strategy
  • Manage the existing Energy Services and Generation line of business
  • Develop new business and projects to achieve annual business objectives
  • Provide recommendations to the COO, EIS with respect to prospective acquisitions that complement the EIS business development strategies
  • Act as an Advisor to Oakville Hydro on projects such as:
      • Distributed Generation & Resources
      • Micro-Grid Technologies
      • Solar PV
      • Conservation & Demand enabling technologies
      • Co-Generation
      • Near or net zero emission projects 

Knowledge, Skills & Qualifications:

  • Degree in, engineering, a related technical field or equivalent work experience
  • 10+ years of experience and a successful track record of developing solutions in the renewable and energy transition sectors
  • Demonstrated experience in business development and in conducting mergers and acquisitions
  • A strong appreciation and knowledge of the power sector and regulatory frameworks
  • Demonstrated experience with effective and impactful interaction with Executive Teams and Board of Director corporate governance structures
  • Ability to think strategically
  • Ability to manage multiple projects
  • Strong influencing and relationship building skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Effective Presence and presentation skills and ability
  • Ability to negotiate and network
