Billing Supervisor – Customer Service

 

Kitchener-Wilmot Hydro Inc. is a local distribution company that is responsible for distributing electricity safely and reliably to more than 95,000 homes and businesses within the City of Kitchener and the Township of Wilmot.

                                                                                             

As our Billing Supervisor and part of the management team, you will be responsible for:

  • Scheduling and supervising the timely and accurate billing of all residential, commercial and industrial customers.
  • Managing the operation of meter reading systems to obtain and validate consumption data daily.
  • Conducting daily balancing of receivable entries, investigating all balancing issues and preparing month-end balancing.
  • Ensuring compliance and assisting with the implementation of all industry changes including pricing and programs.
  • Reviewing and approving billing adjustments.
  • Leading and supervising a team of three Billing Representatives.
  • Recommending and implementing enhancements to work procedures to achieve improved customer service and operating efficiencies.
  • Maintaining a current understanding of new and evolving legislative requirements.

Qualifications

  • A post-secondary education in a discipline relevant to Business Administration or Finance. A minimum of five years of supervisory or leadership experience. Preference will be given to those who have had experience in a utility billing or related customer service environment.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills required.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to coach and motivate within a team.
  • Strong ability to maintain professional and effective working relationships in a unionized environment while maintaining strong organizational skills.
  • Must have sound judgement, analytical and decision making capabilities.
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications and experience with computerized billing and collection systems.
  • Experience in the utility industry would be an asset.
