Mechanic (Heavy Truck / Car and Light Truck)

We are looking for an energetic addition to our team to “deliver” timely, quality repairs and maintenance for our vehicle fleet including ground support equipment which requires preventative maintenance program skills, troubleshooting, repairs, modifications and documentation. We require the incumbent to be a licensed Automotive Service Technician that can skillfully care for a fleet of vehicles ranging in size from compact cars to large bucket trucks. Certification as a Truck and Coach Technician is required as the incumbent will be performing repairs on Radial Boom Device trucks, Bucket Trucks, trailers, forklifts and equipment.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Completion of our annual Motor Vehicle Safety Inspections.
  • Working knowledge of the use and operation of all automotive equipment and testing equipment, gauges and tools normally associated with troubleshooting and repair of gasoline, diesel and/or propane vehicles and/or equipment.
  • Capable, willing and eager to perform small repairs on generators, small support equipment and hydraulic tools.

Qualifications:

  • Certificate of Qualification 310S – Automotive Service Technician
  • Certificate of Qualification 310T – Truck and Coach Technician (Large Trucks)
  • Willing to obtain Canadian Utility Fleet Equipment Mechanic Certification
  • Minimum of seven (7) years fleet, automotive/truck vehicle maintenance experience
  • Valid DZ Vehicle License in good standing
  • Detail oriented and have exceptional problem solving, planning, project management, interpersonal, strong written / verbal communication and computer skills
  • Ability to work without direct supervision for extended periods of time
