INVISTA Canada's nylon manufacturing site located in Kingston, Ontario has immediate openings for a Power Distribution Electrician

 Key Responsibilities:

  • Adhering to and promoting all safety regulations and procedures including performing proper lockout/tag out procedures
  • Electrician will be responsible for Installation, performing routine, preventative maintenance, troubleshooting and repair of power distribution equipment, protection & control, substation metering and overhead lines & equipment.
  • Reading/interpreting technical work orders, blueprints, technical manuals, single line electrical drawings, electrical code specifications, schematics, P&IDs and instrument loop drawings 

Requirements include:

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Licensed as an Electrician (442A 309A) or CET designation. Significant equivalent experience without a designation would be considered.
  • Minimum of 3 years recent working experience as an electrician in an industrial or power distribution environment.
  • Experience working with 600V-44kV switchgear, breakers, transformers, feeders, power panels and Motor Control Centers.
  • Experience in P&C devices an asset
  • Experience in overhead line equipment maintenance up to 44 kV, such as switches, CT/PTs, and insulators.
  • Infrared Thermography certification an asset
  • Trained in electrical safety standards such as CSA Z462, the Electrical Safety Code and the EUSA rule book.
  • Successful candidates will be highly motivated with a demonstrated ability to troubleshoot, diagnose and problem solve malfunctions
  • Demonstrated strong ability to work under minimal supervision
  • Good interpersonal skills, communication skills and the ability to collaborate well with peers, engineering, and management
  • Must place a high value on safety and have past work experience demonstrating it
  • Able to work in a tobacco free environment
