Position:	Journeyman Lineman / Cableman

Hours per Week:	40	Rate of Pay:	As per the Collective Agreement
Number of Openings:	Up to 4	Union:	PWU (legacy Enersource)

Position Purpose:

This position reports to an outside Supervisor.

(Note: Apprentice Recruitment hiring may take place separately. Only qualified Journeyman Lineman will be considered.)

Skills & Qualifications:

MEA Certificate of Registration, or equivalent, as a Power Lineman/Cableman to qualify for consideration at the Journeyman Level.
Grade 12 Education or equivalent job related experience
Thorough knowledge of Overhead/Underground Construction and Maintenance up to the 44 KV Level.
Experience splicing and terminating Underground Systems
Excellent physical condition with the ability to climb and work confidently at heights of up to 70 feet
Valid Class “DZ” Driver’s License with ability to acquire “A”
Safe work record, First Aid and CPR certification are essential
Good record of attendance
Ability to work effectively as a member of a crew
Good communication skills required including professional manner in dealing with customers
Other duties as assigned
