What we need:

Util-Assist’s rapid growth and expanding client base requires us to hire an Inside Sales Coordinator. This person will focus on customer acquisition. This position involves cold calling new, potential clients off a call list as well as following up with inbound leads that are obtained through various means (client/industry business referrals, or web leads, etc.). This person will provide prospective customers/clients with details of all services offered, and give presentations as needed. They will work with clients and potential clients to create solutions for their needs. They will follow the Util-Assist sales process; qualifying prospective leads and leading them through the sales cycle. The candidate must be energetic, well-spoken, and eager to close sales and increase revenue. The position is based primarily in Newmarket, Ontario.

What the successful candidate will do:

  • Make multiple outbound cold calls daily to potential clients
  • Participate in local/regional sales calls and opportunities, including on-site from time to time
  • Understand client needs and offering solutions and support
  • Staying up-to-date with company development, strategy and new product / service offering
  • Research potential leads from business directories, web searches, or digital resources
  • Qualify leads from digital campaigns, conferences, references, tradeshows, etc.
  • Create and maintaining a list/database of prospect clients
  • Present and delivering information to potential clients both remotely and in person
  • Answer potential client questions and follow-up call questions
  • Work with sales team when closing sale
  • Track weekly, monthly, and quarterly performance and sales metrics
  • Build pipelines with channel partners and team members to close sales
  • Maintain database (CRM, Excel, etc.) of prospective client information
  • Assist in closing sales and working with client through closing process
  • Meet daily and monthly sales-related quotas
  • Actively monitor and report on sales targets
  • Adjust sales strategy when needed
  • Report to the Util-Assist Director of Sales

Skills/Qualifications

  • Possesses a minimum 2 years experience in a similar role that involved cold calling and speaking to potential prospects over the phone
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; the ability to call, connect and interact with potential customers
  • Persuasive and goal-oriented
  • Possesses an energetic, outgoing, and friendly demeanor
  • Eager to expand company with new sales, clients, and territories
  • Self-motivated and self-directed
  • Able to multitask, prioritize, and manage time efficiently
  • In-depth understanding of company services and its position in the industry
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
  • Tenacity to handle rejection and continue with a positive attitude when reaching next potential client
  • Knowledge of sales process from initiation to close
  • Ability to work independently or as an active member of a team
  • Previous experience in outbound call centre, inside sales experience, or related sales experience preferred
  • Previous experience in the utility industry preferred
  • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Excel) and CRM experience preferred
