Regulatory Affairs

requires a

Regulatory Analyst – (minimum 12 month contract)

Reporting to the Manager of Regulatory Affairs, the Regulatory Analyst is instrumental in the reporting, compliance, policy analysis and rate-setting activities of Brantford Power Inc.

 

The Regulatory Analyst is responsible for:

  • assessing compliance with regulatory and legislative requirements;
  • interpreting new policy proposals and assessing potential risks and opportunities;
  • compiling information;
  • creating or populating financial and statistical models;
  • writing reports and business cases in support of Brantford Power applications to the Ontario Energy Board and other agencies; and
  • other duties as assigned.

The successful applicant will have the following qualifications:

  • University degree in economics, business, finance, accounting or a related field or equivalent;
  • 2 years of experience in regulatory affairs or a related role (finance, billing or other related field);
  • Experience at a local distribution company is preferred.

The successful applicant will demonstrate the following skills and knowledge:

  • The ability to learn quickly with attention to detail;
  • Critical thinking and problem solving skills;
  • Flexibility, the ability to adapt and prioritize;
  • Excellent logic and reasoning skills;
  • Written communication and Interpersonal skills are also required;
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office suite of programs with advanced excel ( pivot tables, sumifs, etc)
  • Familiarity with the structure of the Ontario electricity sector and understanding of electricity billing practices and requirements is an asset.

Applicants may be required to undergo skills assessment testing.
