ENWIN Utilities Ltd., is currently accepting applications for the position of:

 

Operational Technology Analyst

 

Reporting to the Manager Operational Technology, the successful applicant will be responsible for the design, installation, configuration, operation, maintenance, integrity, and security of the Hydro Operations Operational Technology (OT) network, with expertise leading and operating OT Projects, ADMS (Advanced Distribution Management System) including its SCADA system, security (firewall administration, network routing, OT Security), Domain Administration (Microsoft Active Directory), and server management software (VMWare ESXi). The duties include but are not limited to: providing authorization to the network, repairing and troubleshooting SCADA and network issues to resolution working with IT or OT support teams or vendors as required; defending the OT network and protecting it from breach and data loss; maintaining and operating the OT data center which requires interaction with the Site Department for MTS security, cameras as well as the installation of network infrastructure throughout ENWIN’s OT Network. 

The OT Analyst will work with the Network & Security Analysts for communications and cyber security, providing technical direction to SAM and Hydro Operations staff for device connectivity and configuration changes. Regularly working with Engineering, System Planning and Hydro Distribution to maintain operations of the OT system and ensure secure integration between SCADA system and field devices. The OT Analyst is the primary contact for the SCADA system and liaises with SCADA vendors, IT and Hydro Operations staff to ensure standards and integrations are met for proper system function, safety and compliance; assisting WUC to integrate their remote points into the SCADA system for data backhaul to their plant operators; working with solar and gas generators directly on the ENWIN distribution system ensuring generation is monitored and able to be controlled through the /SCADA system; liaising directly with, setting up and managing inter-control room SCADA feeds with Hydro One and IESO; troubleshooting SCADA communication problems and directing SAM staff in setting up and troubleshooting SCADA problems with field devices. 

The successful applicant must have the following skills and competencies:

  • College diploma in Electrical/Electronics Engineering Technology or relevant field of study OR comparable combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum 3 years of similar or related experience.
  • Detailed knowledge of SCADA Systems, Programmable Logic Controllers, Digital and Analog relaying with associated software, communications infrastructures including fibre optic switches, cellular, 900 MHz, Wi-Max, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, VPN devices, and associated operations systems and software.
  • Detailed understanding of electrical distribution networks, power system equipment, transformer station operation and electrical theory, power quality issues and industry standards.
  • Experience designing, installing, configuring, and maintaining secure data network technology, including switches and routers; enterprise level corporate firewalls and other security systems for Hydro Operations.
  • Working knowledge of Windows, Linux, and Windows Server operating systems and utilities, desktop applications including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Actively question and challenge third party providers when given ambiguous responses that indicate a capability gap.
  • Ability to take conceptual ideas and relate them to the overall SCADA/ADMS system and an ability to articulate complex and detailed concepts.
  • Ability to quickly analyze, troubleshoot, and solve problems both individually and in a team environment.
  • Understand cybersecurity attacking and defending methods.

Salary Range for Qualified Candidates: $88,868 - $98,742
