Board of Director Vacancy for Lakeland Holding Ltd.

Lakeland Holding Ltd. operating out of Muskoka is seeking an Independent Director to join its Board. You will be involved in all Lakeland Holding committees and will act as an advisor to the other Lakeland group of companies potentially moving to other subsidiary Boards. The Board meets approximately 14 times per year in Bracebridge and /or by teleconference. 

Lakeland Holding is a dynamic, growth-oriented business which has the following subsidiary companies: Lakeland Power (electrical distribution), Bracebridge Generation (power generation), Lakeland Energy (broadband, triple play and IT services under the Lakeland Networks brand) and Lakeland Solutions (involved in applying interactive software technologies to reinvent energy power distribution and sales). 

General qualifications of candidates for the Board shall where possible include the following:

• business experience, (especially new tech start-up ventures)
• financial skills,
• strategic planning
• human resources management
• industry knowledge,
• civil and/or electrical,
• marketing,
• independence of judgment,
• knowledge of public policies relating to corporations,
• knowledge and experience concerning environmental matters,
• labour relations and occupational health and safety issues
• previous board experience. 

We are looking primarily for a candidate to assist with knowledge and hands on experience in the rapid evolution of our tech companies which are growing in new and greenfield markets - Lakeland Solutions and Lakeland Energy. Also, a solid understanding of HR would be beneficial.
